Past EventsSpring 2020Owl Involved (Wednesday, January 15th 12:00pm-2:00pm on the Breezeway): We will be advertising our organization and doing demonstrations at FAU's semesterly student organization fair. Python Bootcamp (Friday, March 20th 3:00pm-7:00pm and Friday, March 27th 3:00pm-7:00pm): Our Python Bootcamp acts as an introduction to coding with Python. Those with minimal to no knowledge of coding with python will leave the Bootcamp with the conceptual framework necessary to apply their knowledge to various areas, including research. Participants will also gain hands-on experience using Python via Google Colaboratory. Please visit our Python Bootcamp tab for more information and links to sign-up. Fall 2019Owl Involved (Sunday, August 18th 2:00pm-5:00pm on the Breezeway): We will be advertising our organization and doing demonstrations at FAU's semesterly student organization fair. Chipotle Fundraiser (Tuesday, September 10th 4:00pm-8:00pm): We will be raising money to host the Integration Bee. All you have to do is show up at the location (1666 N. Federal Highway, Suite A, Boca Raton, FL 33432), enjoy great food, and mention SPS or show the flyer at check out! Trip to Florida State University's High Magnetic Field Laboratory (Thursday, September 12th - Sunday, September 15th): Join other physics majors on a tour of FSU's MagLab and FSU's campus, including the physics department and other laboratories. This is a great opportunity to meet professors and learn about possible avenues in the field of physics. APS Plasma Expo (October 24th 8:00am-2:30pm & 6:00pm-8pm and October 25th 8:00am-2:30pm): We will be hosting demonstrations advertising SPS and FAU's physics program to local middle and high schoolers. Python Bootcamp (Friday, March 22nd and April 5th 3:30pm-6:30pm in SE319A): This is a two-part crash course for beginners. Attendees will learn the basics of learning how to code with Python.
